Ashlee in Year 3 helped me to create a sentence using his target sight word ‘they’. We wrote it on post it notes then put the words in the right order. Ashlee then made some play dough slugs to go with his sentence! Here the slugs are taking a look at the words in the sentence to check they are in the right order.
Harriet in Year 3 loves playing our new game of Make 6! She especially loves it when she beats MrsWood. In the game we roll a dice to collect 6 words in a phonic family pattern. Colours are used to reinforce the pattern in each word. Use of coloured felt pens just adds to the enjoyment!
Layla in year 1 has made some large letter I’s to help her learn this tricky word. She has really enjoyed this and proudly shows them to everyone. Layla is now taking them home to show her family. We are also making mini books based on her favourite picture book Dear Zoo. Each page has the text “I see……” with an animal picture from the book. Â Layla loves choosing the animals for each page and reading back the ‘story’ too!
